This Is All You'll Need! Jan 15, 2011
By default_gamer Like me, I'm assuming you're the guy that can't automatically tune a guitar with earplugs on underwater. Only the cashier at Sam Ash can do that. And although he's probably more accurate than any tuning mechanism I've seen, this thing'll do it right! I just tuned my acoustic guitar for the first time, and I felt like a pro! It's that easy! And if you ever decide to forget how to speak English, every freakin' language in the world is in the manual, which can also double as a tablecloth. The battery is included (score!), and any string you pluck, it seems to magically know the exact string name automatically. And it's right every time! It blew my mind away (I'm easily amused)! The microphone is so good that it can hear me playing from 4 feet away! I don't own an electric yet, but I'm sure that'll yield fantastic results as well. You can also do it manually, adjust pitch, and switch to bass like a tropical breeze. This thing works great, and you're nuts to not own this. It's is easily worth $50 instead of the $20 I paid! This'll forever be my little tuning buddy.

Accurate! Oct 15, 2010

A simple but accurate tuner - more pitch-accurate that the Korg tuners. Not as versatile - you can only do EADGBE tuning - but I found that the Korgs could slip as much as a quarter-step off true pitch, while this Yamaha stays dead-on.

Spot on tuning Sep 17, 2011
By Carl - NYC After a number of years of not devoting any significant time to playing, I started to dust off the guitars and basses and began practicing again. As part of the process I began to replace cables, amp tubes, etc. When I recently acquired an '02 American P-Bass, it was sounding desifinado. My Sabine XIP-700 tuner was at least 10 years old and I decided it was time to replace it. The Yamaha is great, accurate and easy to use. I wish the screen was backlit to make it easier to read, but all my axes are sounding better than ever. A great tuner for someone who isn't gigging regularly.

So Easy to Use!!! Apr 05, 2011
By VaTech Girl I've paid people to tune my guitar... such a waste of money. If I know this tuner was this easy to use, I would have bought this thing a long time ago. Turn it one, play a string, and the tuner will tell you how to tune the guitar! Amazing!!!
