With its 3-piece mahogany set neck and mahogany body, the DV-4 is all about warm, defined tone. It also looks great with a transparent finish, as evidenced by the DV-4's sharp appearance. A 34-inch scale rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets completes the package, and it's all tied together with crème binding. EMG-MMHZ Pickup
The MMHZ is a passive pickup with a dual-coil design for low noise and plenty of output. Featuring EMG's CS design (Ceramic and Steel), this has the punch and fullness of older passive designs with added brightness for a better-defined tone. Each Pickup is fully shielded for a minimum of noise. Use the EMG Active 2-band EQ with selectable frequencies for further versatility, and dial in your tone just right for any application. Fit, finish, adjustable EQ, EMG active creates a snappy tight little bass. The tone, ( adjustable) is awesome . Why I can buy a Schecter for over 60% off is beyond me, not the price which for a very different looking and playing professional bass guitar is great. Lovin' Mine!

I'm sure this would have been a great deal through Musician's Friend. However I have a few problems. 1. I paid for the item and never received it. 2. I was never notified of this. 3. I called and the customer service department failed and did not offer a discount on a substitute for misleading advertising. Odd thing was that when I ordered it showed 3 in stock. Ok I understand retail isn't perfect. Now it shows 6? Come on now the company needs to do better. Schecter makes a good product so this review is strictly on the distributor. Now I have to return the 500$ worth of Bass equipment I got because I can't find a bass at that price and quality.

Ordered on the 28th December, heard nothing until today. Musician's Friend (or not) has cancelled my order as the product has been discontinued...so wth is it still being advertised on Amazon then - I see today that they have 4 left still...really!! Musician's Friend sucks and I will never order anything from them ever again!!!!
