5If you play a Rickenbacker 4001...  Mar 13, 2012 By Barnabas O'Collins
If you play a 4001 or 4003, these are the strings to have. The punch, the growl, it's all there. I'm not too aggressive of a player so they haven't eaten up my frets yet, but that's what luthiers are for, right? These bad boys stay in tune like nobody's business and when you play, everyone knows what strings you have on your axe.

I did get a slight bit of bridge lift (~1mm) on my 1980 4001, but it hasn't changed in 30 years, so I don't worry about it. Rotosound Swing bass strings and a 4001/4003 are a match made in heaven!

5Highly recommended by a professional bassist!  Jan 19, 2012 By N. Nick "redgarnet54"
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my son who is a professional bass guitar player. He had this on his "wish list" through Amazon.com and stated that this is the only brand he uses. He claims you can definitely hear the difference and they last much longer both by heavy use and being exposed to the elements (their band plays lots of outdoor gigs as well). After being told the above, it seems rediculous to waste the $$ and buy anything else. Also, I would definitely purchase through this seller again. Delivery was very fast and they were packaged very well.

4Chirs Squire in a box  Aug 09, 2011 By Mary
ATTENTION: these strings are amazing!! they have a great trebly, piano/harpsichord-like tone that is sure to cut through in any mix or in any band. if you are going for the chris squire sound and can't afford a Ric 4001, these puppies (and a pick) will get you as close as you can to his legendary tone. they're also great for slapping and almost any other style of music if you adjust your tone pots and amp properly. I'm using them on my fender jazz and they work great. you can't go wrong- try these strings!

5Won't you groove together, with RotoSound Strings..............  Apr 27, 2011 By George Hartselle II "BamaGeo"
Words from THE WHO SELL OUT album, that segue into I Can See For Miles, "Won't you groove together with RotoSound Strings.............." They were John Entwistle's favorite and I have used them for decades. THey are the best for hard rock and roll.

5Great Bass players can't be wrong  Mar 05, 2011 By chubbtech
I've been using those strings for 30 years and on the rare occasions I couldn't get my hands on them, the substitutes didn't quite give me the sound I like.
