4Great Product! Well Worth It.  Dec 28, 2009 By ksrp
A great option for those with 6 to 8 pedals. A bit expensive, which cost it a star. It is very well-made. Incredibly light. The soft case seems sturdy and well-made. Very roomy. No problem loading a fully loaded PT into it. Also comes with plenty of Velcro and brackets for installing a Voodoo PP2+ power source. But, the Voodoo is not the only option.

I used a T-Rex Fuel Tank Jr. This is a great option to the much more expensive Voodoo Labs PP2+ or some other bricks. Installation is not at all a hassle. Easily attaches with Velcro to the Pedaltrain, either on top or to save space it fits nicely Velcro'ed (I used 3M Dual Lock) underneath the unit. Plenty of isolated (thus noise-free) outputs (5) to power your pedals. Comes with many, many different size cables so you'll definitely find the length you want. You can also daisy-chain (cable included) several pedals to one single output as long as the combined draw is not over 120mA (check the specs of your pedals for power draw expressed as mA) which will save you some output space. They also include one Y cable for powering a 18v pedal (attaches to 2 of the outputs.) BTW, Voodoo charges extra for the 18v cable for their product - it is not included in the box.

The daisy chain method worked great powering older Boss pedals which require the older Boss ACA power converters. To get it to work perfectly what you need to do is also power at least one non-ACA pedal in the chain as well.

If your needs are relatively simple and you're powering just 6 to 8 or so 9v pedals and perhaps one 18v pedal this just might be the most cost-effective option for you. Spend the money you'll save buying an additional pedal!

OTOH, if you have more pedals or more higher voltage pedals, including Line 6's, or could make use of the battery sag function the PP2+ is probably the way to go. And PT sure makes it easy to install.

UPDATE: T-Rex is about to come out with another version called the Chameleon which offers more outputs and switchable voltage switches. Might be a better option for some people. That said, the FTJr still meets my needs perfectly. No need to upgrade.

5Slightly smaller than expected but very light and functional  Mar 15, 2012 By Woland99
Pedaltrain JR board was slightly smaller than expected - looking at "pedalboard planner" app on Pedaltrain website I expected to fit all 6 pedals (Wilson wah, Ernie Ball volume, 2 fairly large Wampler O/D pedals and compressor, TC Electronic Flashback delay) with some room to spare but ended up having to shuffle them around couple times before finding optimal layout. Because my delay is rather thin and mounted in second row I ordered their pedal booster. The completed pedal board is ergonomic, very clean looking (all cables and power supply are underneath) and lighter than expected. Soft case also contributes to low weight - and it seems very well made. Case could have had slightly bigger extra compartments for guitar cable, power cords etc. You can fit spare cables, plugs, tools, flashlight there but without any room left. Case can be carried using very solid shoulder strap.

4pedal train pedal board  Dec 03, 2010 By Christopher M. Stafford
This is a great SMALL board. I thought it would be bigger than it looks in the picture. the only negative thing I have to say is the room under the board for your power supplies. it is really meant for you to buy the phantom power supply that is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, so if you are trying to use your normal power supplies, they will fit but barely I CAN BARELY POWER 3 pedlals under this because there is such little room, but i love the zip up bag and the pocket on it is huge. I would suggest getting it. you can make do with the limited space. I have 4 pedal boards, this is one of my favorite.

4solid pro gear- assembly tricky  Apr 13, 2012 By grizwald
This thing is exactly what they said; a very solid base for your pedals with the great Velcro. The wires tuck neatly underneath the slats.Good design.

Installing a the voodoo-lab power supply on the little rack involves drilling holes in the aluminum. There are no marks or guidelines so you have to be pretty handy. Mine came out slightly crooked but still worked, but you pretty much only get one shot at getting it right. Would advise people go to eBay with the pre-assembled one unless you are pretty handy.

The junior will hold about 10 pedals of average size which is just the number that the power supply will accommodate.

5Great board for the minimalist!  Aug 26, 2011 By Sunup Hwang
It does exactly what it's supposed to, keeps your pedals together in a handy, easy to tote and easy to setup/breakdown format. The soft case is great as well. This is my third soft case from them (had an older PTjr., then a PT2, then now back to the newer PTjr.), and the newer PTjr. cases seem to have a better, beefier handle and zippers.
