Liking it more and more every day Sep 25, 2011
By Richard Marks First I want to start by saying my Corvette is a little different than the one pictured here. I believe mine is a new model while the one pictured here is an older model. The main difference is that mine has a 2 piece bridge and doesn't say "RockBass" really big on the head stock. Everything else should be the same, though. It's a great bass for the money. If you're looking for that Warwick growl, it will give it to you. This bass is great to play live because it is light weight, has a small ergonomic body, and one of the thinnest 5 string necks out there.
I've only got 2 problems with the bass which made me give it 4 stars: One is the sound. I have spent a lot of time trying to set this thing up to be as versatile as my MusicMan Sterling, and it's been in vain. It pretty much just makes one tone. You can mess with the bass and treble on the pre amp and make it a little different, but it's still pretty much the same. But if that's the tone you are looking for it is perfect for you. The other thing is the finish. In less than 4 months of owning this bass, playing it maybe an hour or so a week at band practice and like 2 gigs (I only play this bass for one 45 minute long set live), I wore off some of the black finish under the B string where I rest my thumb. I like that it sort of gives it character, but I think it should have held up a little longer than that before wearing.
